Wang Zhaoguo

Wang Zhaoguo is a Chinese politician who came to prominence during the era of Deng Xiaoping. At age 41 he had already acquired a ministerial position job.

Biography


Wang Zhaoguo was born in Fengrun, Hebei in 1941. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1965. He graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1966.

He served as the First Secretary of the Communist Youth League from 1982 to 1984, at which point he was of a higher position than both current President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao. He became Governor of Fujian from 1987 to 1990.

He was the Head of from 1992 to 2002. In 2003 he became the Vice-Chairman of standing committee of 10th National People's Congress, and was re-elected in 11th National People's Congress in 2008.. He is a member of the and 17th Politburo of the Communist Party of China. In addition, he serves as the Chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions.
